George County shuts down BearsSPECIAL TO THE SUN-HERALDLUCEDALE— The 10th ranked George County Rebels shut down the Leakesville Bear offense Friday night as the Rebels completely dominated play for a 28-6 football victory.George County remains on top of the Gulf Coast Conference with a perfect 6-0 mark.Rebel tailback Ricky Nix scored on a one-yard run in the first quarter and Rusty Martin converted the extra point for a 7-0 lead.Nix returned a BearaVaught to stay as Rebel ADpunt 34 yards to set up the second George County score, a 21-yard pass from quarterback Davey Sellers to Jason Fallon. Martin converted for a 14-0 margin in the second quarter.Three minutes later Stokes Ludgood, a fullback, rushed 31 yards into the end zone. Martin kicked the PAT.George County pushedLeakesville back and punter Chris Beard’s kick was blocked by tackle MitchellStreet and recovered in the end zone by Mike Henley for the final Rebel touchdown. Again Martin kicked the PAT.Stan Busby returned an interception 26 yards for the Bear touchdown.George County plays at Ocean Springs next week.
