■Brilliant Record of Harry M. Jewett,the Chicagoan. % ]Harry M. Jewett, the champion sprinter of the year, lived in Chicago until ho entered college at Notra Dame. He is the biggest crack athlote in the country, standing six feet one inch in height, weighing 104 pounds and having a chest measurement of thirty-nine inches. His first race outside of collegewas at the university of Michigan fieldgames in May, 1690, and in the sprints 'he gave Owen a chase for his life on arough road and in the jumps he swept reverything before him. He joined the jDetroit athletic club before leaving the |grounds, and next appeared at Detroit,where he beat Owen in 100 yards dashfor the western championship and took ' third in the jumps.
