The win raises the Aces record to four wins against two losses.Things looked dismal throughout the first half for the Aces as Licking Heights had them backed up to their own goal line for most of the first two quarters A fine defense for the Aces kept the Hornets from scoring by causing them to commit turnovers in cuncial situations. The Granville offense was virtually non-existant the first half so that both teams went to their locker rooms at halftime without any pointsThe second half was a different situation entirely. On he first play of the half, Jerry Benton took the baH forty-eight yards on a trick play to the Hornets 15 yar-dline Just a few plays later, Benton took a pitchout and waltzed into the endzone untouched for the first TI) of the game. Doug Wollenburg kicked the extra point to make it 7-0, Granville.Then, with the third quarter winding down, Benton burst up the middle for an eighty-three yard dash to the endzone putting the Aces up 13-0 Benton finished the game with 170 yards in 7 carries to lead both teams The fleet-footed senior has scored twenty-six points in the last two games to spearhead Aces victories,A strong Granville defense was praised, along with the fine showing by Benton.
