The twelve hundred spectators who saw the game were soon aware that the Tigers were not tame enough for the Ben-1 wood team to hold. Had the lull timeot twenty-live minutes been played in the second half the score would have¥\been considerably greater.The Tigers won the kickoff andShir-ing booted the pigskin to the Benwood hoys who afterwards lost it on throe downs. When the Tigers got the ball it went straight down the field for a touchdown. It took them just four min-ntes to score the first touchdown. Theycontinued this sort of work until theyhad piled up a score of twenty-three points in the first half. Only once or twice did the Benwood line keep the visitors from going thru. Only twice did the Benwood team get into theTigers’ territory. On a bluff punt they were able to get thru the line for about twenty yards but outside of this the line was formidable. The firsthalf lasted twenty five minutes.In the first half Kirby, who plays right end on the Tiger team, sprainedhis left ankle and bad to leave thegame. This happened in the third down. Frank Bast, one of the two Masflillon hoys on this year’s team, was put in Kirby's place and put up a very creditable game. In the absence of Kirby, wno has been doing the punting for the Tigers, Moran was called for this work. In the secondhalf the Tigers scored twenty-three points more in the fifteen minutes played. It was in this half that the Benwood team became tired, much to the disgust of the crowd. Moran had his ankle badly wrenched, but it is thot that he will be back in the Shelby game which will be played here next Saturday. Kirby will be out of the game for several weeks.
