Refused to Be Party to FrameupAgainst Old Officers at Request of NewNO FLAWS IN THEIR PASTThe Village of Robbins has a new legal advisor. Attorney Paul T. Klenk, Mayor of Blue Island, who was appointed by the Bryant party following election last spring, has been “fired” by President Bryant for “neglect of duty.” In his stead J. Harold Mose-ly of Chicago, colored attorney, will dispense opinions on the legality of the actions of the village board.When seen by a Sun-Standard representative, Mayor Klenk, as attorney for the Village of Robbins, confirmed the “firing” report with the comment “I am tickled to death.” According to Attorney Klenk he was engaged by President Bryant andhis associates on the village board to investigate the alleged descrepancies ; in the books and monies of the village under the old regime and to prosecute i Thomas Kellar, editor of the Robbins j I Herald, former president of the Vil-lage, together with his associates on I the village board and ‘stick them all I in jail’”Attorney Klenk demanded that an audit be made of the books of the vil-1 lage and a Chicago concern made the! audit. The village attorney assisted in I the audit personally and the report of the auditing concern showed that there was not the slightest flaw in the books or the monies of the village.The report did not suit President Bryant, who during the election campaign promised to bring to light the true facts and to put the Kellar faction in jail. When the investigation did not bear out the reported short-' ages, etc.. Attorney Klenk declined to move prosecution against innocent men. despite the repeated requests made to that end by President Brvant The removal order carried with it a year’s salary for Attorney Klenk.
