Century Is a good ball club and they were highly fired up for their homecoming. The Cat defense allowed the Vikings only three scattered first downs.Trailing 7 to 0 wdth 2 minutes and fourteen sec- 0 onds to play, a groggy b Ricky Whitfield dropped back to cover a Black Cat punt. Whitfield started to ground the ball at his 20 yard line, changed his mind and raced 80 yards down the sideline behind perfect blocking to score. The Viking offense came on the field and contributed their big play of the night. Paul Leon passed wide in the flat to Ricky Whitfield who battled his way over the little white line, and the Vikings had the lead at 8 to 7.Century, stunned and mad, swarmed off the bench to take the kickoff and return it to their ow’n 32 yard line. Paul Leon broke up a third down pass, but Kenny Stuckey, the big Century quarterback, raced around his right end on fourth down to pick up the Important first down with 1:34 left in the game. Stuckey dropped back to pass and Randy Carter dropped him for a 6 yard less. James Rose batted down a pass attempt, and on third dowm Denny Anderson intercepted a Stuckey pass at the Viking 46 wdth 1:10 left to play.
