Coach John Emerson will bring a team of Lamar Tigers to Neosho tonight that almost entirely relies' - on its ground game for varda fife. in fact, against Aurora last Week. Lamar threw a total of only four passes—and had three ofthem intercepted.Coach Emerson had to rebuild almost his entire team this year,/ because only two lettermen returned from last year. They were Bob Slinker, quarterback, and Bob Shirley, right end, both seniors.There is one sophomore in the Lamar starting lineup, and he is John Moore, 169-pound fullback who has scored most of Lamar's touchdowns this season, both on long runs and plunges.There are three extra-big boys in Lamar's line, two at the tackle slots, Duane Jones weighs 205 pounds, while Wllmer Bishop weighs 198. Center Roger Reed scales in !at 187 pounds.These three weigh more than the biggest Neosho lineman, Johnny Allizer, 170-pound tackle. The Tigers will have a terrific weight advantage in the line (a situation Neosho is fast becoming accustomed to), outweighing Neosho man-for-man on ah average of 20pounds. The comparison is 172 152.All of Coach Calvin Lane’s charges are expected to be ready for the game, although several have been plauged with colds the past few days and may still be slightly under the weather.Coach Lane put the Wildcats through a stiff workout yesterday. The boys Scrimmaged with the emphasis on defense.
