BROOKLYN BEAT NEW YORK.NEW YORK, Oct. 11.—The first championship game in the new professional league of football players took place to-day at Eastern Park, Brooklyn, between the Brooklyn and New York teams. New' York was beaten— 3 to 1.WASHINGTON 2—PHILADELPHIA 1.WASHINGTON, Oct. 11.—The championship professional football season opened here today with a game between the Philadelphia and Washington teams. The home team won by a score of 2 goals to 1.
