The Tigers, 4 1, have high hopes for the 1974 football season and this game could be the key.The Tigers have defeated Harrison Central, Northeast Lauderdale, Southeast Lauderdale and Poplarville in their last four games after suffering an opening game defeat. The Tigers have a 1-1 record in DeSoto play and 4-1 overall.Quitman is a Sam Dale conference member with a 1-2 record in league play and 1-4 overall. The Panthers have lost three games to the best in the area in Waynesboro, Petal and South Jones. The win was over Northeast Lauderdale.Coach Glenn Wells of Northeast says he was surprised wdth the physical strength of Quitman. “They have real good quickness. They run inside a great deal, screen and pass better than average. The defense is probably theirstrongest asset and they reactquick.!
