Hit battle should be for second place Thursday afternoon when the Flyway conference holds its third cross country meet at Horicon’s Rock River Hill golf course.Campbdlsport finished dual meet competition with a W record, while Lomira, Horicon and Rosendale-Brandon all had 4-2 marks. “There should be a fine battle for individual honors between our own Glenn Stommel and Al Fleeter, Lomira’s John Mar quart and Oakfield’s Steve Yantz,” Campbellsport coach Jim Vollmer said Monday.Vollmer said that his ace runner, Stommel, was struck In the mouth by several elbows at the start of the Fastest race in the Fond du Lac Relays last Saturday, and thist, *may have cost him a high finish.“It shook Glenn up and he ran 50 seconds slower than he had done in the same meet a year ago, Vollmer said. Campbellsport finished second to Menomonee Falls North in the medium school division of the meet.Vollmer felt that his runners gave Menomonee Fails North a good run for its monty in the meet. “We finished ahead of them in three of the first six races, but they were ahead of us in total time by about 15 seconds before the last race/* hsaid.His Cougars will be seeking their third straight title in the Flyway meet.i • i
