Pierce City Ties LamarLAMAR - (Special) - A stubborn Pierce City team which refused to accept defeat stormed back in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter to score twice and tie a surprised ancl favored Lamar club, 19-19, Friday night.Lamar amassed a half - time advantage of 13 to 0 on Halfback Bob SUnkcr’s two line plunges and seemed to be in command of the situation until the third quarterwhen Hawkins, Pierce City brokeaway for a 20-yard scoring dash. Lamar scored again a few minutes later when Quarterback Jon Dcr-inott passed three yards to Lonnie Freiden. With four minutes left remaining in the game, Pierce City began its belated drive, scoring first on Hagebush‘s 24-yard run after recovering a Lamar fumble in midfield completed a 44-yard pass and a 4-yard line plunge by Hawkins for the tying tally.
