Brad Covilie | Times '■Fike, Hunt capture team titles at Wilson County ChampionshipsBy Randy JonesStaff WriterThere was a bit of a shake up in the hierarchy of the area’s cross-country dynamic at the seventh annual Wilson County Championships held on a soggy course at the Gil-lete Athletic Complex Monday afternoon.Sure, Hunt sophomore Lauren West dominated toclaim the girls individual title for the second year in a row, and the Fike girls won their seventh straight team title by 14 points. But the team in second was a bit of a surprise as Wilson Christian placed four top-10 runners to be runner-up.And on the boys side, Hunt sophomore Marcus Medina-Artis ended the Golden Demons’ run of six straight individual boys titles and led the Warriors to the team crown as well, ending a two-year stranglehold by Beddingfield.“I was very, very impressed with the boys team’s effort today,” Hunt coach Rusty Boyette said. “Going in, I gave them all a goal, and I told them if they reached them, we’d have a good chance to beat Beddingfield. And we did. We had all five ofour guys in the top 10.1 can’tbe more ecstatic.“The girls, lauren ran a great race and maybe we ran a bit slower as a team, but overall we had some great finishes.
