The game was to be one of a series for the world's championship, and would no doubt have been very interesting had it been played.A crowd or* several hundred New Haveners gathered at the park and waited until almost -1 o’clock, 'but the teams failed to materialize. Mr. McKee, the news dealers, who had arranged for the game then called it off. Luckily tickets with coupons attached had been sold, and no trouble was experienced in refunding the money taken in at the gate.Mr. McKee said last night that the only reason he could give for the non-appearance was the reported arrest ofseveral of the players in Stamford Wednesday.
