Nine singles matches and the first doubles encounter will feature the play today at the Salt lAke Tenuis club courts at Forest Dale.Harvey Hansen had the narrowest escape among the veterans yesterday when he wan forced three sets by the hard-fighting Louis Banker. Banker took the opener ^8-3 and ran up a 4-3 lead in the second set before Hansen found himself and rallied to victory, 6-3.6-3.Bill Wooward, Bud Raleigh and Gordon Giles won their matches handily but Ted Heal was given j trouble by Milt Mussar, going three Sets, 1-6. 6- #, 6-3. before* Heal was able to tuck away the win. Art 1Crow, O. W. Carlson and Ray Hunt advanced on defaults.The second round matches todayare expected to see th^ competition tighten up.
