The Trojans’ 33 points were 27 better than second-place Gaylord, which finished with 60. Petoskey (68), Sault Ste. Marie (121) and Tawas (126) rounded out the top five.Other Traverse City runners were Lori Klingelsmith (12th), Angie Myers (14th), Myria Simmerman (16th) and Thomasine Peltier (22nd).The Trojans return to action Saturday at the Charlevoix Invitational.In the boys meet, Traverse City’s Brent Manthei finished sixth overall as the Trojans finished fifth in the nine-team meet.Manthei’s time in the 3.1-mile race was 17 minutes, 51 seconds.Gaylord won the invitational with 53 points. Traverse City finished with 123 points.Also placing for the Trojans: T.J. Kingsley was second with 108. The Does were followed by Suttons Bay at 113, Mancelona at 115, Mesick at 133, Manistee at 148 and Ludi-ngton at 150.Manistee’s Sue Niemiec was the overall winner in 20:24. Tori Ed-wardson, a freshman from Elk Rapids, was third at 20:29.
