After shooting at 800 yards a recess of two hours was taken for lunch, during which a magnificent silver vase was pre- 1 seated by Major Leech in behalf of the Irish team to the American team, to be competed for each year. The prizes were presented to the winners by Lady Massavbne. The last shot of the match was fired by Col. Boixtne, the Americans being then one point behind. He hit the bull’s-eye, scoring four and winning the match for the Americans. Col. John Bo-dine is 48 years old, and lives in Highland, Ulster Co. He was formerly Colonel of the 19th Regt., H. X. Militia. He is about six feet high, well proportioned, and straight as an Indian. He shoots iu the face downward position, takes deliberate aim, and talks but little. He has the finest collection of firearms, perhaps, of any gentleman in the State.
