Matt Davis opened the North scoring attack in the second quarter when he scored from the eight and Mike Korbuly added a one-yardplunge in the final period.Kirk Martin and David Adamson recorded the two-point conversions while cor-nerback Brook Carlson and linebacker Gary St. Lxouis played excellent defense. Rodney Ehresmann, Barney Frazier, Mike Brown and Jim Gage shined for the Broncos.Wendell Yancey scampered 70 yards with the game’s lone touchdown in the second quarter to lift Forest Meadow to a 6-0 decision over Liberty. Besides Yancey, Jeff Gurley, Lucky Tonroy, Danny Harrison and Roger Meyerturned in key performances while Rob Masterson and Paul Ayers played well for Liberty.EIGHTH GRADEPat Eitel drilled Tony Watkins with a 60-yard bomb and Brian Wiggins booted a 26-yard field goal in the first quarter to fuel North past West 9-7 in a battle of unbeatens.The Broncos added their lone tally in the fourth period when Jeff Hunter located Jim Bob Crook for a 45-yard touchdown pass and Brian Henry kicked the extra point.Phil Templeton and Ricky Kovar were defensive standouts for North as were Glen Bakken, Steve Mayes, Henry and John Flaming for the Broncos.Forest Meadow opened a 13-0 halftime bulge and defeated Liberty 13-6. David Ondich’s two-yard plunge and Chris Tasbv’s /(Ward scamper secured the Chargers their first win of the season while Ben Mala-banan added the lone extraMike Thompson for the Patriots’ score from 25 yards out. Donnie Pearce was a key defensive standout for Forest Meadow as he recovered two fumblesJeff Pratt and Fabian Barrigan tallied two touchdowns apiece to spark undefeated Westwood to a 42-0 romp over Northwood. Pratt scored on a 25-yard interception return and 45 -yard run while Barrigan had TD scampers of 65 and 45 yards.Charlie Terrell added a five-yard scoring run, Ted Fox tallied from the two, Bob Barwis recorded a safety, Doug Kalmback kicked three extra points and Rusty Krause booted one to round out the Warriors’ 42-point production. Joe Scolaro, Clinton Robinson and Ken Rose were the defensive stand outs for the Wildcats whileMike Barnes, Troy Youman and Brian Moore shined for RichardsonNINTH GRADELake Highlands, leading 6-0 at the half, scored two touchdowns in the third period to topple Richardson 27-9 and keep its unbeaten string alive at three games.Scott Flores tallied the first half touchdown on a 45 -yard run while Keith Pate and Mike Stemat added the decisive third quarter scores on runs of 28 and 13 yards, respectively. Stemat also added a two-yard plunge in the final period while Kerry Bradley booted three extra points.The Falcons scored on Brian Ervine’s 40-yard field goal and Landon Hengst’s two-yard quarterback sneak. Defensively, Billy Moses, Stemet, Wendell Norris, Todd Kirkpatrick and Brian Flook shined for LH as did Richard Dale for the Falcons.Northwood mounted an awesome 70-yard drive in the final 1:36 of play to stun Westwood 20-14. Quarter back Vic Langley, who connected on 10 of 18 tosses for 193 yards, directed the winning march that concluded with his 44-yard bomb to Shaun Hills with 29 seconds remaining.The Cougars opened a 14 -0 halftime lead on Gerald Bright’s 15-yard run and Langley’s 20-yard pass to Jim Racanelli followed by a pair of extra points byKevin O’Toole.However, Westwood bounced back in the final half as Jeff Robertson drilled Lee McCasland with a 20-yard scoring toss, Mike Mannerberg scampered two yards and Robertson located Randy Warm-brodt for a two-point conversion.STEVE LAVY’S two-yard run and Kirk Zietham-mel’s extra point lifted North to a 7-6 decision over West. The Broncos tallied in the third period on Mike Burdett’s 15-yard pass to David Norris but North stopped the crucial two-point conversion.Forest Meadow blanked Liberty 22-0 behind the per-for mances of Gary Jefferson and Gary Wilson. Jefferson scored on a 60-yard punt return and hauled in a 60-yard bomb from Wilson while Wilson also added a 37-yard field goal.Jon Kaigler added the other Charger touchdown on a five-yard romp.
