Offense Sputters, Aces Lose 6-0 to Lakewoodby Rick GallantWhen the Aces do poorly, they do very poorly. Such is the case as once again the Blue Aces lost, this time to' Lakewood 6-0 This was the second straight game Granville has failed to cross the goal line. The whole game was a virtual deadlock, with neither team getting close enough to do any damage With only a few minutes remaining the game, Lakewood quarterback Jeff Miller hit Steve Shoe with a 13 yard touchdown pass The attempt at a two pointer conversion failed.Ben Buckles' Aces were outgained 184 yards to 64 yards, as nothing theBlueand White tried seemed to work. Granville turned the ball over four times; one fumble and three Rick Gallant passes were intercepted Ken Marshall accounted for most of the Aces’ yards, and Rod Williams looked good the few times he carried the ball.Granville only came close to threatening once, and that attempt was thwarted by ar offside penalty on a fourth down situation at the Lancer 31. A fired-up Lancer defense^ne _____held the Aces to 0 pass completions in eight attempts. Granville now drops to 2-2 overall and 1-2 in league play.
