MELLODY DEFEATS WALCOTT.Wins the Welterweight Championship,His Opponent Quitting.Boston. Xov. 30.—Honey Mel-lody of Charlestown won the welterweight championship of the worldfrom Joe Walcott of Boson at the Lincoln A. C. in Chelsea Thursday night. In the twelfth round Walcott quit. He said later that his left arm became disabled in the ninth round and that it was impossible for him tocontinue fighting.
