The Northwest 3-A All-Stars were completely outclassed.Belmont's Tony Mauldin was perhaps the game's outstanding performer.The fleet senior halfback was his team's leading rusher with 69 yards in nine attempts and caught two passes for 92 yards, including one touchdown.After a scoreless third quarter* the South got oil the scoreboard on a 63-yard drive, Don Owens of R-S Central going over from the one.Later in the second period* the South drove 90 yards, the touchdown coming on a beautifully-executed pass play fromR-S Central’s Jack Huss to Mauldin. Mauldin caughL the ball and then just ran over the safelyman in the 60 yard souring maneuver.In the third quarter. North recovered a fumble on the second half kickoff. Later, Jerry Brookshire passed nine yards -o Dan Jones for the score.But the Southerners were to score three more. Owens went over from the two to cap a co-yard drive.
