This is decided upon, however, that the men who 1 have been playing with the team all J along will not be slighted for any recruits that may be secured during the last day or so of the season. ManagerWise is strongly in favor also of playing the men who have worked together in other games. The lineup of the Canton team will not be announced definitely until the team arrives here from Congress lake. The trip will be made in a special car over the Wheeling Lake Erie to Navarre and thence by an electric car to the grounds. The Canton followers are laughing with glee at the supposed consternation that will come to the Tigers and all Massillon fans when the great team from the county ^eat enters the grounds, ihe event is to be made as spectacular aspossible.A movement has been inaugurated in Canton to have all persons coming to Massillon in vehicles to meet at a certain place at a given time and pass through Massillon in a procession. Ihe Canton rooters that will come in special trains will meet the Canton people in conveyances and the idea is to swamp Massillon people by numbersand enthusiasm.New1* from Congress lake is closelyguarded by Canton followers. Several new players have arrived and it is stated as a fact in Canton that Heston is with tne equal. Marshall Reynolds and A. L. Smith, the two stars of the University of Pennsylvania, arrived at the lake Monday and went into training and practice a once.The Canton Morning New3 Tuesday contained a long article to the elFeet that Canton sports were unable to place any bets in Massillon. The latest bet rumored from Canton is that a Cantonfan is willing to bet four to one that Massillon will not score. If no score is made the Canton man wins his bet. Betting continues in both Canton and Massillon in spite of the statements coming from the county seat. Several bets were made Tuesday at even money. This is the prevailing hazard placed on the game. A few bets have been made at great odds, some thatCanton will not score and others that Massillon will not make a point. These are individnal cases and are not in linewith the general betting.All of the people that witness the t game will not reach Massillon. The park is located a mile south of the city. A special train on the Pennsylvania will bring a crowd to the stationand the excursionists will take street cars to the grounds, returning to the station without going to the business section. Two special trains on theWheeling Lake Erie will be run from Canton and these trains will run to the state hospital switch just east of the grounds and the crowd will board the train after the game and return to Canton. A good part of thecrowd f/om Canton will thus not be up town.Liverymen in Canton say that every available conveyance has been spokenfor Thursday. The same condition exists in Massillon. The Canton-AkronRailway Company has promised twenty cars for the use cf Massillon people flora the square to the grounds. Ten oars will be kept in constant serviceeach way from noon to dark.Whether Canton again plays Latrobe this season depends upon the outcome of the Thanksgiving day game in Massillon. Latrobe says that if Canton wins the game the proposition will be considered. It is likely that after theThursday game nothing more will be heard of the interstate championship of Ohio and Pennsylvania. Canton will have all it wants to do to win Thursday.Manager Wise says that the foot ball held will be kept in good condition during the game if it rains. Loads of straw will be taken to the grounds to be used to keep the field from gettingslippery.
