GEORGE WEST—The George West Longhorns, winnersof district 31-AA, dominated the positions on the all-district team for 31-AA, with five on first team offense, four on second team offense, four on first team defense and three onsecond team defense.Scott Kobbins, 175-pound senior, claimed the first team offensive center position. Warren Dunn, 18-pound senior claimed two positions for the ‘Horns, first team offensive tackle and second team defensive lineman.Fat McKinney, 163-pound senior, took honors on the first offensive team, as an end. Cliff Hoskins, 185-pound senior claimed first team offensive halfback and second team defensive comerback.Tommy Wojtasczyk, 145-pound junior, was the only Longhorn to take first team honors on both offense and defense.Wojtasczyk was selected as the other first team offensive halfback with Hoskins, and first team defensive secondary.Senior guard Bucky Houdmann, 192-pounds, made second team offense, along with Gary Snowden, 165-pound senior, at second team quarterback.Sandy Freeborn, 180-pound senior, took second team offensive honors at halfback and first team defensive honorsat end.Ronnie Wilson, 178-pound senior, duplicated Freeboms feat by taking second team offensive fullback and first teamdefensive linebacker.Junior Kenneth Riley, 192-pounds copped a first team defensive lineman position for his defensive efforts of the year.The Longhorns had an excellent season as they finished in bi-district play with a season record of 10 wins, one loss and one tie.The players who earned all-district honors area reflection of an entire team effort.All District Selections-1970!
