Soon the ball was forced across the line by (Corbett. The next time, as soon as the ball was in the hands of the South Side team, Smith punted beautifully, andthe punt was returned. When the game ended, the tiall was in the hands of Traverse City, well into Elk Rapids territory.Ed Boyer and Amil Nerlinger acted as officers of the game. Foot ball is in its infancy in Elk Rapids, but the boys from there play well considering•r * vthe short time that they have known anything about the game. They are plucky to the last, and by next year will be able to put up a very pretty article in the way of a game. It is n pleasure to watch their play, as it is perfectly clean, as is also that of the South Side team. The closing game of the series tor the two teams will be played at Elk Rapids Thursday of this week.
