Red Cross Swimming*Awards DistributedWater safety awards were presented last week to thoee who passed the tests at the most successful instruction classes at Silver Beach, held during the past summer under the sponsorship of the Kiwanis Club of Russell Instructions and testa were conducted by Mr. Ed. Duke, of Winnipeg, for the Red Cross Water Safety Division, and he was assisted by Miss Joyce Simick. of Angusville, and Ricky Margetts, of Brandon., Kiwanis President J. Murphy, assisted by fellow-members H. E. Way, Jt, C. Smellie and J. Moran, made the local presentations to 38 swimmers, 20 of whom were beginners. They were Lois Bicfcneil, Emil Boychuk, ,Janette Cusitar, Jim Johnson, Wen dy Kieper, Claire Loney, Mrs. Nickel, Dennis Nickel, Jim Nickel, Karen Nickel, Brenda Prokop, Bobby’ Roberts, Barbara Sanderson, Joanne Sem-ochko, Ellen Sharpe, Lexie Smart, Linda Smellie, Daphne Stewart, Dennis Whitmer and Lois WhitmerJunior awards were presented toMurray Bicknetl, Jack Burgess, Bruce Johnson, Bobby Kieper, Ronnie Pay-ie, Rita Prince, Paula Sharpe, Brooks Smart, Patsy Witty; Intermediate, Mickey Clement, Rae Hainatock. Carol Hart, Bryan Loney, Dorothy Silver, Carol Smellie, Donald Wishira, and senior, Dianna Dunamore and Susan Smellie. ~Kiwanians Jim Burgess, Bill Ubry piuk and Jim Moran visited Angusville to present the awards there Beginners were Bobby Chuchmuch,Vivian Chuchmuch, Darlene Katchin, Linda Rodeck, Larry Sawaryn, Josie Senko, Brian Sackney, Arnold Wolo-rhatiuk, and juniors, Lavina Katchin, Garry Kioon, Wayne Luba.Other awards mailed out from I • here, included six to Miniota and ,one or more to Hanwby, Dropjmore, MacNutt, Rossburn and Mooso-min.
