Wonder how much of the old Bill Heiland grid philosophy was evident in last Saturday morning's Public League semi-final game between Lane and Schurz? Both coaches, Ron Rio of Lane and and Frank Preo of Schurz, both played on crack Heiland coached elevens at Austin High School back in the early ’50’s. Rio, ironically, was on the Tiger eleven that beat Lane for the Public League championship, 6 to 0, and then lost to Terry Brennan's great Mt. Carmel team of that vear in the Preo Bowl
