PanthersDistrictCarver High School Green Hor-* inets make their first appearance into bi-district play since 1955 Saturday night on Lions Field at 8:00 p.m, when they host the Price High School Panthers of Taylor, champions of district 7A. The Hornetswon the 8A title.Coach Alexander Williams’ Hornets and the Panthers have identical 9-0-1 season records, but had a common opponent, Elgin, which the Panthers beat in their opener 20-0. The Green Hornets edged Elgin 14-12.The Greon Hornets only blot was'f a 6-8 tie with third place Smith-ville. They opened with a 60-0 win over non district opponent, Luling. After the tie they swept to 46-6 j wins over Giddings, 12-8 over Bartlett, identical 16-0 victories over Columbus and Bastrop, 14-0 over Round Rock, 12-6 against Kealing of Austin atid 24-0 over Le Grange.Taylor’s only problem was a tie with AM Consolidated, which they played against, last week, and beat for the championship.Probable starting line-up for the visitors includes L. O. Griffin (132) and Herbert Henderson (160), ends;Head should be back at his starting position after the 147 potider was injured four weeks ago. Head is one of the top defensive hands as well as a good offensive threat..Others on the starting lineup will be Eddie Pinehback (150), quarterback; Gettrell Carter (175), right half; James McDavid (145), lefthalf; Willie Ellison (168), right end;Hiawatha Franks (150), left end; Paul Franks (170) and Matthew’ Carter (150), tackles; Tiiliman Hill (145), and Roger Brite (178), will be at guard positions; Alfred Thomsen (250), center.
