Should they triumphagain today, the MeadowbrookClub trophy will be in their possession permanently. Three consecutive victories are necessaryto retain it for good. The annual races resulted as follows:1917—Frankford High1918—West1919—Central1920—'West Philly1921—West Phillywas the year Charlie Cullman. Charlie Gordon, A1 McCurdy, Charlie Detweiler and Pickholtz were running.That was a great team, one of the best that has ever been assembled under the same colors at one time in the Philadelphia high schools.The following year thlt; delphia barriers, led by Frank Ziebus, won the senior championships with a low score of 24 points. This rare gaveWest Philadelphia its first leg on the trophy.Last season Captain Barney Oldfieldpiloted the team to a second victory. The squad made a great showing, evenjetter than the year before. The teamw?ore was one point low’ef than the year before, with 2B points. The team alsofinished second in the American chain idonships a week later.
