PAGE 12,V** -V.WrLoop Honors Three Raven Grid PlaversThree Anderson College football players have been named to the 1963 Hoosier Conference all-star team named by mentors holding their fall session on the local campus.Bob Davenport, Taylor University, was chosen “Coach of the Year.”Named to the defensive squad have been Mike Mundy, Anderson, former Madison Heights High School prep star, and Larry Cole, St. Louis, Mo. Quarterback Larry Davy, Cassapolis, Mich., is listed with the offensive crew.Dominating the HCC all-star picture this fall are Taylor, league champs, and Franklin, each of which landed five grid-ders on the mythical team.Four players each were chosen from Manchester and Indiana Central squads whileHanover's winless outfit, the last two seasons, copped two spots.League coaches named Mundy one of three linebackers whileCole was chosen among five linemen. Davy was tabbed withfour other backs.Raven total offense leader this season with 1,107 net yards in 208 plays, the 5-11, 204-pound Davy also was top Raven passer. He threw 150 times to complete 67 for 883 yards. Seven of his passes resulted in touchdowns.No. 2 man this fall in individual rushing, Mundy, as Raven fullback, collected 252 yards on54 carries.The HCC all-star offense team includes:Ends — Hal Sampson, Fiar.k-lin. and Mike Groth, Hanover.
