FOWL PLAY ON” JONESSPORTS AROUND FINDLAY WERE GOING TO LOCK HIM UP IN A CHICKEN COOP.' *Con Riley to the Rescue, and-All was Merry as a MarriageBell.Findlay, o., Nov. 21.—Indignant because be had converted the proposed boxing contests between Gus Hublin and Con Riley and Art Simms and Biz Mackey into what in their opinion would be uninteresting wrestling matches, 22 boxing enthuslastc from this city and North Baltimore had all arrangements made to kidnap Assistant Attorney-General Jones last night, and thus prevent him from being present in the hall where the wrestling matches were held. According to ar- j rangcments Jones was to have been grabbed from ueliind while on his wav ! to Jhe Davis Opera House, which is Just a short distance form the inn where he is stopping, hurried into a cab and driven to North Baltimore. Here he was to have been locked in a chicken coop to await the arrival of the owner, whose part was to notify the police. Coo. Riley learned of the scheme to dispense with Jones, and declared I that if he was not in the hall there would be no wrestling matches. The men* were determined, and Riley’s declaration alone prevented their plans from being carried out. .In the wrestling matches Frank Yer-ger got two successive falls from Biz*' Mackey in 2:11 and 1:54 aDd won.Ruhlin threw, Riley twice in succession in 4:19 and 12:17, and won.Attorney Jones stated after the contests that he had enjoyed them very much.
