Billy McCarthy and Benny Kelleher Fight j1 r to a Finish at San Francisco. ]1San Francisco, Nov. 21.—A fight to a 1finish between Billy McCarthy, cham* 11 pion middle-weight of» Australia, and I Danny Kelleher, of Boston, for a purse I of $1,800, took place at the rooms of the I California Athletic club. IPrevious to the fight it was announced 1 that the club had decided to offer a purse J of $10,000 for a fight between Peter I Jackson and John L. Sullivan. jIn the first and second Tounds1 MeCar-1 thy took the aggressive and forced Kel-1 lener around the ring with vicious swings. I In the third Kelleher was knocked down 1 with a right hander which also cut his J lip badly. McCarthy continued to push I EUeher about the ring from the tnirdl to the sixteenth rounds, Kelleher res* ponding feebly.. Prom the sixteenth to I twenty-first the fighting was somewhat I livelier and Kelleher got in a number of I good blows.
