Football team goes undefeatedForsanbyKATHRYN HOLLINGSHEAD Call 267-1429The third and fourth grade Buffalo football team finished the season undefeated by winning the Crossroads Little Football League Super Bowl Nov. 10, defeating the Bears, 28-6, David and Sherry Roman reported.Scoring touchdowns for the Buffalos were Justin White, Brandon Marino, Kyle Newton and Michael Birmelin.Leading the defense with 12 tackles was Blaine Roman, with Justin White making five tackles and Michael Birmelin, 5 tackles.The Buffalos ended the season with six wins, no losses. Coaching the team were Robert Wash and Bill Gilliam. Team members are Joshua Spencer, Brandon Marino, Jarrett Ferguson, Blake White, Justin White, Blaine Roman, Jason Anderson, Josh Smith, B.J. Prin-cipal Richard Light and Superintendent J.F. Poynor expressed their thanks, reminding the volunteers that the children of Elbow Elementary are the winners, reaping benefits from the volunteers' investment of time for years to come.Wiggling kindergarteners serenaded the volunteers with “Over the River and Through the Woods,” directed by Mrs. Cregar. The tables were decorated with painted Pilgrim and Indian napkin rings created by the first graders, colorful placemats woven by third graders, and turkey pine cone centerpieces painted by second graders.Each guest wore a “bakedturkey” name tag presented by the fourth graders, and each plate sported a colored greeting card.4-H’ers compete at Food ShowForsan 4-H members entered the 4-H Food Show at First Presbyterian Church last weekend, and came away with many first and second place ribbons. Megan Crouch placed first and had the highest score with her entry in the Nutritious Oven Food competition.Others who placed first are Brooke Reed, Shawn Simmons and Megan Schrecengost. Terra Proctor, Travis Womack, Amanda Epley, Dondi Brewer, Kristen Schrecengost and Celeste Coates placed second, according to Travis Womack.Buffaloes end season undefeatedThe rammin’, jammin’ Buffaloes of Forsan Junior High fought their way to an undefeated season in 1990, winning all seven games. Coaches Jan East, Johnny Schafer, Bryan Stringer and Kurt White keep a close eye on these youngsters, while coaching them, because in a short time these boys will make up the high school varsity team.1990 Junior High Buffaloes are eighth graders — J.J. The Corral is the outpatient facility for the Big Spring State Hospital. The items will be used for the annual Christmas party.Christmas musicalVolunteer choir members at Forsan Baptist Church started rehearsing this year's Christmas musical, “Heaven's Child” this week. Rehearsals for any interesed musicians will be held after services each Sunday and Wednesday night. Presentation is planned for Dec. 23.
