HEINZA fighting band of Big Blue opportunists closed out the 1954 grid campaign with a sparkling 28-14 triumph over a Valiant Middletown outfit before 6,000 fans last night at the Athletic Field.Two bad punts, one partially blocked and the other blocked and recovered by Hamilton deep in Middletown territory, paved the way of the two touchdowns which provided the margin of victory.Co-Captain Davey Allen accounted for two Big Blue scores while Spud Hornsby and Phil Davis were credited with the other two tallies. Jim McKean kicked all four conversion points.The victory gave Coach Chuck Thackara’s crew a commendable 6-2-2 record while the Middies suffered their seventh loss of the season compared with only three wins. It was the worst record in history for a Middletown team. •
