Basket Ball At The Y. W. G. A.Basket Ball Is becoming increas ingly t popular In Jamaica, and quite a tew clubs have been formed both ia Kingston and In the country;It ia rumoured that the Kingston Y will be starting a Basket Ball Association in the near future so that all clubs wlU'play the same rules, and perhaps there will be a shield to compete for.The Kingston Y. team met the Titchfleld Old Girls in a match yes terday and gare them a severe trouncing scoring ^eleven goals to their one. The winners showed the rieitors Justf what short passing could do. The game was fast and exciting throughout and the score does not really indicate the stand ard of play. The Old Girls did well, hot the Y defence was too much for them. B. C. Wilson in goal could bardiy have been better, smith and Fyffe playing for the Y. had a wonderful combination between them and the shoots” scored almost as often as they gQt ths ball. For the visitors C. and K. Forsyths and ths little gicfplaying half were real good. The Old Girls, although playing a los ing gams worked hard to the end and took their defeat In a sports manlike way.
