COLUMBIA NEGROES WTKThey Defeated Lincoln InstituteYesterday Afternoon, 47 to 14.The Columbia Athletic*, a negro football team, defeated Lincoln Institute of Jefferson City yesterday afternoon. 47 to 14. Although the weather was cold the speed of the Columbia team was not Impeded. The Jefferson City team resorted to forward passes from time to time but were unsuccessful except on two occasions when they gained twenty yards and a touchdown.“Boodler” Brown’s goal kicking, and the strong defense and long gains made by George Tibbs. I. H. Jackson and Robert Clarkson, enabled the Columbia team to pile up a high score. Lincoln Institute did not score until the last few minutes of the game when the Columbia team took out Its best men and put in substitutes.
