A 13-yard scramble by quarterback Arthur Wallace and a 21-yard jaunt by Harry Pearson highlighted the drive: which culminated in a 34-yard pass from Wallace to William Epps.Friendly had the extra point blocked, but still held a 6-0 edges with 8:48 to go in the opening stanza.Severna Pack took the lead on their first possession. The Falcons moved 59 yards in six. plays, with 53 yards coming on the legs of Johnson. Johnson, who gained i20 yards on the night, scored on a 6-yard run and Hetrick’s run around right end gave Severna Park an 8-6 lead with 5:58 to go in the first quarter,Friendly gained 134 yards rushing in the first half and scored on three .of their, four possessions. Wallace threw just two passes in the half, but both went to Epps for touchdowns.Epps second score came with 11:27 left in the second quarter. That drive came about as a result of a blocked Severna Park punt which gave the Patriots the ball on the Falcon 29.“The blocked punt was a mistake, but we weren’t down but 20-16 then, Borland said. “A mistake to this kind of a ballgame hurts us, but that’s not what killed us.”Friendly appeared ready to break the game open on their first possession of the; second half.
