Cross - Country Kayak Trek Ends In D.C.WASHINGTON (AP) - Two men in Ihiur early 20s paddled a kayak Into Washington’s tidal basin Friday ending a six-month cross country trek by water.About 60 persons were on hand at the basin when Jimmy R. Curnes, 23, ot Wheeling, W. Va„ and John A. Davidson, 24, of Carlisle, Pa., turned their tiny craft in from the Potomac River. •Among those present were their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Curnes of Wheeling and the ltev.and Mrs. John Davidson of Carlisle.Curnes and Davidson pad-died up the Monongshela and Cheat Rivers as part of their river journey, then portaged over the mountains to(hlt;» headwaters of the Potomac.
