But each individual works extremely bard and 1 think we will be all right.“Call mu an optimist if you want to, but 1 really think we are going to be toughen' than we were last year.’1Mayle feels he will know what kind of team he has by next weekend. Friday the Matadors enter the Arizona State Freestyle Wrestling Championships at Glendale Community College. The meet concludes Saturday.“There will be 300 wrestlers entered in ihe tournament so by the time it is over we should have a pretty good indication of what our team can do,” Mayle added.The Glendale affair starts a gruelling schedule for the Westerners. During the season, the Matadors will Lake part in 15 (hud meets and live tournnmenls. The first home match is Dec. 7th against Mesa Community College at 3 p.m. Then the following day AWC will host Glendale College at I p.m.“1 fool our team is already a couple of months ahead of last years tram,1' the AWC coach commented. “I have a sLrong feeling tlinl we will repeat as state champions and then capture the zone championship.Mayle also has high hujtts for Campos. “Steve placed third in the state last year,” the Matador mentor remarked,- He has looked extremelygood in practice and he could win state, zone and finish in the top three in the nationals.1' Jimmy May, a 126-pounderfrom Henderson, Nev., also draws praise from Mayle. “Jimmy won two straight state high school championships in Nevada. (AP) -Bagdari led wire to wire to wire Saturday to win the feature race at Turf Paradise by 2li lengths.Bagdari ran the mile in1:36.0 and paid S5.60, $3 and S2.40.Vegas Vie, the favorite, finished second paying S3 and S2.40 while Divisive paid $2.60 t n show.Stuck cars will race around the quarter-mile dirt oval at Yuma Speedway today. Action starts at 2 p.m.But. highlighting the racing action will be a destruction derby. At least eight cars are expected to enter the derby. The winner will lake home $50.Also slated is a bicycle races for children. Trophies will be awarded to winners.The stock car drivers, however, will compete in a trophy dash, three heats, semimain and main.
