ART MAGIRL HERE FOR BOOTMiddleweight After a Thanksgivinglay Hattie.Art Magirl, one of the best welterweights in the game, arrived in Joplin last night and will meet representatives of the Southwest Athletic 1 Cluj) today relative to his appearing here Thanksgiving day. No suggestions have been made as to who can be engaged for Magirl, but an effort will be made to obtain someone.Magirl has met some of the good boxers of the country. He has been in more than a half hundred engagements and his record shows he finished ahead of all but a few of them. He has met “Wildcat” Ferns three times and twice drew with him, once losing decision. His latest bout was when he knocked out Tommy Abbott j in the third round at Springfield last ! week. —Joplin fans would like to see him here. He is a brother to Dennis Ma-girl, who twice has been seen in Joplin, once beating “Bull’* Morrow and the last time losing to fast little Bobbie Waugh.
