“BATHHOUSE JOHN”Has a Good Chance to Land Western League Franchise.Chicago, Nov. 17. — “Bathhouse John Coughlin, first ward alderman, of Chicago. leader of the notorious “First Ward Ball,’’ the annual orgy, is said to bo after a franchise In the Western league, with a fair chance that he will get it. Coughlin owns a deer park near Colorado Springs, and it is his intention to pur-I chase the Pueblo franchise and move the ■ grounds to his park. George Davis, a White Sox veteran, appears to be his onlv competitor, and Davis cannot command the money or influence Coughlin can swing. Coughlin would probably i pay small attention to salary and other I limits, and it is thought he will make Davis his manager if he secures the franchise.
