Frank Lollino, 4943 Crystal, is a busy guy these days. Not only is he the Frosh-Soph basketball coach at West* inghouse high school, but he is also the newly designated assistant principal and is finishing work on his master’s degree. He relinquished his duties as athletic director when he was assigned the new job, but he retained hispost as assistant cage coach. The ex-Lane Tech, University of Illinois and professional football player is finding the new post challenging and says he has learned a lot in a short time.Lollino was a standout linemen during his days at Lane Tech (1955-59). He happened to be a Illinois in one of those lean periods but his ability was not unrecognized. He had a tryout with the New York Jets and eventually • played two years in the Atlantic league and four years with the Continental league. His last two years of active grid activity were with the Chicago Owls, now defunct, who did their stuff at Soldier Field on Home dates. It is coincidental that Lollino’s successor as athletic director at Westinghouse, Bob Myers, has also had a stint in the pro grid circuit. He played for a while with the Baltimore Colts of the National Football league.
