Bob Harmon, the Liberal young man who pitches for the St. Louis national leaguers, pitched u game on Sunday, Nov. 5, at Kansas City for John Kling’s all-star team against the Royal Giants, a negro team, the game being played todecide the championship of Kansas City. Harmon, in the nine innings, struck out 25 of the negro sluggers, whose playing has been thesensation of the year ut KansasCity. The previous strike out record lor u innings is jo, established by Jack Root of the iola. Kans..league team in 1904. Harmon did not win his game against the negroes, however. The game wascalled an account of darkness, in the 9th, with the* score 1 to 1.Each team got its one run onerrors.It is worthy of note that Rout also failed to win his game when lie established his record in 1^04.
