Wildcats Crippled !so.With Anderson OutiAnticipate Tough Game With Aurora Tomorrow Night.The Wildcats arc anticipating ;t tough game tomorrow night when they go to Cartilage to met the Carthage Tigers in a game that could easily be a toss-up either way. The ’Cats are weakened by the loss of their only veteran tackle, John •Swede” Anderson, who has been out for football for three years, is one of the main stays in tin* team, and lias been . thought of as almost indcspens- ' able. John's leg muscles were badly bruised in the Lamar \ came and he will definitely be!out of the game tomorrow nightand prouabiy lor the remainder j of the season. This weakens that side of the line considerab- : ly, as Anderson was probably the best tackle on the team. Cain will be moved from right tackle , to left tackle to fill Anderson’s : place and Dennis (Jreincr, a j Freshman at 156 pounds, will fill Cain’s place at right tackle.If weight and previous scores count, Carthage may have the upper hand, as their team is a large one compared to our comparatively small team, and Lamar defeated Carthage by a ! scon* of 12-6 and Neosho by a j score of 12-0. However, Neosho i fans are pretty confident that the Wildcats will be victorious f some even going so far as to! say by two touchdowns. The i team will certainly be weakened I by the loss of Anderson and the ; fans and players alike will miss i his strong spirit and ability as 1 a tackle, but. the team as a i whole looks good this week. ;Concerning the game that is j the main attraction this week. Monet t doesn’t seem to be too confident of herself in the on- i coming game with Lamar. The j Monett. Times states that if Lamar defeats Monett. they will ask Aurora to forfeit the game that Aurora won from them early in the season. 6-0. It seems that Lamar charges that Aurora officials failed to send an eligibility list to Lamar before the game. Aurora claims she did send it and Lamar claims she 1 didn’t get it, so as yet it has j not been decided as how Aurora would go about proving to conference officials that one was sent - or how Lamar would convince the same officials that one wasn’t, sent. The Times also states that if Lamar just wants a football championship, maybethe conference can just give them one.This is just one person’s opinion, but in the Lamar-Neosho game. Lamar looked like the best team the Wildcats had come up against—including Aurora and Monett. So maybe in order to get a football championship, Lamar can win one square and fair. It would be impossible to take sides in the Aurora-Lamar dispute, but if Lamar defeats Monett, then there should be a tie for the conference, and if they did lose to Lamar, since Monett hasn’t lost any games so far. perhaps that would prove that Lamar had the better team. However, both Monett and Lamar have good teams, as their previous records have proven, and which ever team comes out vietorius, the conference shouldcertainly belong to them, because the game tomorrow night between Monett and Lamar will be a tough one and each team will have to fight for what they get.
