bAd attempt ii beiug made by Fred Fort-ney, of the Manhattan Athletic Club, to loriu a water polo league. He has invited the Athletic Club of the Schuvlaill Navy, i ot Philadelphia; the Boston Athletic Asso-! elation, the Providence Athletic Club, and ! the New York Athletic Club i to become members. The idea is loreach club to play two games with each of the other clubs. A suitable charapion-ship trophy will be provided and each member of the winning teem will receive a gold medal. The Athletic Club ot the Schuylkill Nary and Manhattan Athletic Club and Providence Athletic Club have signified their willingness to become members ot proposed league.
