They lest in district play at Cisco by 6 to 3 to the Abilene team, which went on to state to lose in the finals. During the season Avoca won 11 and lost 5 games. Left to right, top row, are Bill Tarrant, coach; Tommie Tyler, Pete Sylvester, Bennei At-taway, Jimmie Roberts, Daryl Schoonmaker, Earl Cum-ba, coach; second row, Gene Hughes, Larry Muehl'stein, Bobby Byrd; third row, Doug Townsend. Leslie Townsend, Wayland Shirley, Bug Hughes, Danny Edwards, Delbert Wilson is not present.
