; MULDOON WINS DECISIONI Kid Gaines, (he colored champion Ijoxer. and Harry Muldoon met. in what was to have lf*en a ten-round bout for a decision. Towards the close of the second round Gaines was sent to the floor and was counted out by Referee McLeod.When the time-kee]er'8 bell sounded on the start, of the fight Muldoon made straight for his opponent and the fight from then to the close was ail that could be desired from a siH'clator's point of view.I loth Gaines and Muldoon seemed equally determined to win out, and although Muldoon was awarded the decision through Gaines not reft pond ing to Referee McLeod's counting^ if seemed as though the colored man could not hear the referee* counting, and was only waiting to give himself wind liefore rising.Muldoon, however, seems to be heavier than Gaines and is a man of splendid physique, being much more muscular than his opponent.
