%IT REALLY WAS BIZ MACKEY:The particulars of the bout at Cleveland between Mackey and a man by the name of Cooper have just come to light. Mackey and Riley went to Cleveland and Biz went under the name of “Kid Weaver.” Cooper is a big fellow from Philadelphia and when lie saw Mackey he made a side bet ofa hundred dollars on himself. When* \ • • 1 (he took a good look at the “nifty” little Findlay boxer, he said: “It is a shame to hit that fellow. I’ll just give him one punch on the jaw.” He meant to keep his word and swung at Mackey with his left, but Biz beat him to it and knocked him down, the well saving him. He did the same thing in the next round and Cooper’s manager gave up the sponge. Cooper still thinks he was fighting “Weaver” and thought there was some mistake about his being beaten so badly.—F n Hay Republican
