Wendt is ranch heavier than Herman and is a good fighter. They got at it hammer and tongs. Herman bores in continuously and there is a lot of infighting at which Packey McFarland ,d to be an expert. Herman had Wend tired out at the end of the four rounds and after a little more shadow fiddling the lightweight took on Kid White, a featherweight, built like a jay bird, but last as a flash of lightning.Herman neded just such a fast little man to work with, and he may take both of these boxers to Siler and Curley's training farm back of Downer's Grove, where he will go today to do the rest of his training.Herman and White boxed four fast rounds and then, without a let-up, Herman picked up a jumping rope and skipped three or four thousaui times. He kept this up with hardly a miss until liis legs began to feel it and then worked the rowing machine for ten minutes. Work with the wrist machine followed. Then he used the swinging rings for ten minutes, follow d by a swing on the trapeze. Someone wanted him to carry upthroe tons of coal from the ground floor to the third, but the Kid said h'* needed a hair cut and did not. want to spend the money.After a shower bath and a rub-down Herman stepped on to the scales, stripped, and was right at the 134 notch. He is going to the farm to try and take on some weight. He is dov/n to fighting weight now, hut wants to build himself up, believing he will be much stronger when he finishe; training three weeks hence.Herman is working fast and his friends believe he will give Packey an argument when they step into the ring.—Chicago News.
