Down The Lanes*lt;*The Early Birds started off the new week at Suburban Lanes with Keith Cripe shooting high for the league a 5S0 series. It was a losing cause as his team lost 4-0 to the league leading Cardinals. The 200 games were B.- Hanshew 213, H. Smith 309, and Keith Cripe, 222.D and D Bar, Merchant League classic leader continued on its winning spree by winning four from Hawkins and Son Cable. Bishops moved into second place with DAMCO and Clints Mara-then tied for third. O.K. Suit after a fine 204 start had a complete reverse nose dive to a 100 game. That’s right bowlers 100 even. Ernie Powell led the league on a 610 series for the DAMCO Team.Steel Parts No. 2 and Steel Parts No. 4 remained tied for first place with 4 point victories. Sewell Fletcher led the way for No. 2 with a 617 series, followed by Mike Burdette, 55S, and Mac Dodson 532. No. 4 was led by Hank Sunsdahl 577, and Owen Hurst 510 and Jim Driver 511. Oakes No. 2 won off of Overdorf Motors but still dropped into 3rd place from their tie for 1st. Steel Parts No. 2 and No. 3 split apiece. No. 1 was led by Bob Leach 572 and Gene Bagley 560.
