FOOTBALL NEWS.What the Local Teams Are Doing-—A Thanksgiving: Game Likely.Members of tlie “Sedalia Students’ ” football eleven last night wrote to the captain of the Tarkio College eleven, Tarkio, Mo., asking for a game for Thanksgiving. Tarkio was defeated this year by the Missouri Tigers and the Haskell Indians, but, nevertheless, the eleven is said to be a good one.An eleven from Jefferson City wants to come here for a Thanks-giving game, but no arrangements to that end will be made.The “Sedalia Students,'’ however, have arranged for a game with the California Tigers, to be played here Tuesday, and a warm time is anticipated.The football eleven at the Missouri Pacific shops wants a game and wants it badly. Members of the eleven yesterday told a Democrat reporter that no team in Sedalia would play them for fear of defeat. The boys say they can beat any team in their class that will tackle ‘them on the Liberty park field.“The “Dewey” football eleven at the George R. Smith college lays claim to the best goal kicker in Central Missouri. The writer did not learn his name, but it is said he drop-kicks goal from the field.
