CASA GRANDE — The CGUHS cross Country team had its win streak snapped at five last week when they lost out to Mesa 26 to 29, but this week are favored in the divisional meet at East High School in Phoenix.-•The meet is scheduled for Friday and Mesa is expected to again give the Cougars some trouble In that Mesa contest, Mesa’s Matt Hyde nosed out Cougar Bill Fye at the finish line to record a 9:50, just one second off the course record. Fye came in at9:52.Fye had won five straight races. Teammate Billy Allen finished fourth in the race, J. B. Churchwell was sixth, Joe Quintanar was seventh and Art Mankel was eighth.The junior varsity recorded its eighth straight winand remain undefeated Freshman Robert Stone, : who has not lost a race all year, was first, Hick O’Neal second, Angel Quintanar third, Roland * Justin fourth and Andrew Jackson fifth I
